To carry out an action, you first need to tell Easy ShutDown, when to act. There are two ways to do this. You can either set a countdown or give the application a time range (start and end). Then, you select what action you want to carry out. For shutdown, restart, and log off, there is a "brute" option. This forces all active applications to quit before the action is carried out. Any application should be prevented from stopping the action, because this can result in lost data if you didn't save beforehand. Easy ShutDown can play a sound with each active action.

The app also has a built-in scheduler, which can save regular actions for everyday use. It also has hotkey support and gives you the means to create shortcuts, that you can click to perform an action.
